V&A Museum
‘The world’s leading museum of art, design and performance’

The team at Alcema are delighted to be awarded the project to complete works on this beautiful and prestigious building at the heart of English history. This will include forming a new entrance lobby and welcome desk. Also to include full strip out and reconfiguration of the existing visitor toilets incorporating bespoke Wedgewood terrazzo wall panelling.
This will be a challenging and complex project due to the need for much of the work to be carried out working in a live environment. A Grade I listed building, this project requires significant planning of material delivery and dust and vibration management to ensure irreplaceable artefacts are protected at all times. With some of these dating back over 5,000 years the pressure on all involved has never been greater. The Alcema team welcomes the challenge with the same level of passion and surety the project will be delivered on time and to the high levels of satisfaction required for this iconic building.
Alcema will undertake the role of principle contractor to manage the incumbent specialist contractors and our supply chain to deliver a class leading project, all whilst the building remains live. We will be engaged during the PCSA design phase to bring our buildability knowledge to the process to ensure the final design will be delivered within both the financial and building constraints.
We look forward to working on this stunning building and bringing the wealth and expertise of the Alcema team to deliver the high specification finish this finest historical building deserves.
