CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY

This project was a CAT B, design and build office fitout for the Civil Aviation Authority’s Head Office.

Works included the safe isolation and removal of existing M&E Services to facilitate the proposed works, the removal of existing ceilings and the installation of new ceiling sections.

Implementation of a fully revised mechanical and electrical scheme was required with major alterations and installations. These included state-of-the-art AV systems, comms infrastructure, hardwear equipment and Dali controlled feature lighting. Installation of the latest sound reducing double glazed partitions to help enhance the working environment for the CAA team.

Delivery of a new townhall kitchen welfare area with a 98” TV monitor overlooking the striking views of the River Thames, a library, a smaller tea point, additional WC facilities and a drying room facility were all included as part of this project.

One of the greatest aspects the Alcema Team enjoy is getting to meet and work with really interesting companies and clients, embracing what they do and looking for ways the project can make lives easier during and after completion.

As part of this project Alcema created privacy booths and alongside the contemporary-style office and library space these provided a link to the aviations’s greatest achievements throughout history, for both the CAA’s team and their visiting clients.

To meet the specific requirements and challenges that the CAA has to undertake, a large crisis support meeting room was fitted out, this involved the installation of the latest technologies, software furniture and equipment.

The project was completed on time and on budget and we are proud to have the CAA as part of Alcema’s portfolio of work.
