Social Value and ESG Policy
Alcema sets out to create a positive social impact with each and every project. Over recent years we have provided vast financial resources to go in to the local economies relevant to each Alcema project.
Supporting the communities around the areas we deliver our projects is a key objective with each build, including investing in, and supporting the development and growth of the local supply chain and businesses.

Our goal is to make a real difference to people’s lives by enhancing the social, environmental and economic well-being of the communities in which we work.
We aim to create sustainable environments that enhance people’s lives and this is reflected in our values, ethos, and daily operations. We work with our clients, supply chain and our communities to listen and develop programmes and provide opportunities focussed on people and encouraging prosperous local communities.
Over-delivering to our customers is essential, and working to customer KPIs is simply part of an Alcema day, but we also want to put something back in to our local community; ultimately buildings are nothing more than architecture without people to bring them to life and give them purpose.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Social Responsibility is a central part of our design development process. In order to fully achieve this we need to understand how Alcema can impact the lives that our projects touch, and how we can continually improve the part we play in delivering sustainable development.
This is why we are constantly looking to create a culture of listening and open discussion. To understand we need to listen to the voices and recognise the needs of those around us. Empathy is key, not a word which has been aligned with construction standards over the years. We want to listen to the voices of those affected by our projects. The entire build process falls within our perception of Social Impact; any area where we are accountable for and can have a direct impact on the wellbeing of others, needs to be considered.
