WORKS METHODOLOGY
The five storey building was originally constructed in 2011 and comprises of 138nr apartments which total approximately 7,500m2, plus a basement car park. The project involved essential remedial works to fire compartments, fire stopping and fire doors to the communal areas and occupied apartments.
We reconfigured entrance lobbies and upgraded fire detection, the security provision and general decorations. Externally, we completed substantial remedial works to the external paving and planters to ensure the areas met health and safety standards. The cycle storage was also upgraded with additional security fencing.
Works included new aluminium entrance doors, a new internal parcel lobby aluminium doors, Amazon parcel locker installation, upgrade of security works, associated electrical installation and upgrade of fire detection. The project also included remedial works to compartment fire walls within communal areas and apartments and to fire doors and fires stopping to frames. A new SR2 rated security enclosure to cycle storage was installed as well as the completion of remedial works to external paving and planters, alterations to entrance gates and internal decorations to doors and frames.

OUTCOME
The project was completed within the agreed time scales and to the budget constraints.
I can safely say that it has been a pleasure to deal with Alcema. The professionalism from the offset has been second to none and the project has been managed superbly.
A real key component in my eyes when carrying out projects such as the one at Vida House is communication. This was a big strength of Alcema as I was constantly kept in the loop with all aspects on a daily, weekly, and fortnightly basis.
Throughout the project I felt that all safety measures and cleaning practices were dealt with appropriately which was obliviously magnified as the project took place in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic.
