Haringey Council – Alexandra House
Social Value is at the Heart of this Project that refurbishes internal office space in Wood Green for Haringey Council over this £4.15m project delivered across 95,000sqft

Alcema is delighted to have been awarded the project to refurbish internal office spaces at Alexandra House and 48 Station Road, Wood Green by Haringey Council . This is a £4.15 million contract involving 95,000sqft and is scheduled to be completed within 32 weeks. Works include stripping out redundant kitchens, plasterboard and blockwork walls, floor coverings, WC cubicles, fixtures and fittings, installing new plasterboard reconfiguration and new office partitions, removal and replacement of kitchens, new floor coverings and decorations, refurbishment of existing Male/Female WC’s, new Gender-Neutral WCs to 3 floors and electrical alternations including new data cabling.
The main project is located at Alexandra House which has 8 floors being refurbished along with new solar reflective paint coating to the existing roof levels 11 & 12. In addition the contract includes work at 48 Station Road which Alcema will be refurbishing 4 floors of this office space as well as the cleaning of the external roof terrace/break out area.
One of the key features Alcema values about this project is the need to maximise every Social Value aspect possible. Alcema and Haringey Council have worked hard to ensure the Haringey community benefits as much as possible from the project including employing local workforce as well as subcontractors, and using local businesses for the supply of materials wherever possible. We intend to continue to look for further opportunities throughout the project build. We aim to ensure all involved are given the chance to progress wherever possible, and the local community benefits as a result.
