Haringey Girls Academy – Sponsorship
As part of Alcema’s continued commitment to support social value we are pleased to confirm our sponsorship of Haringey Girls Academy under 15’s Football Team.

As part of Alcema’s continued commitment to support social value we are pleased to confirm our sponsorship of Haringey Girls Academy under 15’s Football Team. On Saturday 8th October our Project Manager Adrian Croome visited the Club for the unveiling of the new shirts and to present a cheque to the Club Director Adem Ali. Adrian described this event as “a great day, beautiful sunshine on and off the pitch and it was great to see Haringey come out 10-1 winners against Watford”.

Haringey Football Academy provides a premier development program for girls to progress through football. They work with over 75 girls per week and have managed to move over 15 girls onto Regional Talent Centres and international caps. This is an astounding accomplishment in the eyes of Alcema. It is this ‘reach for the stars’ approach regarding the girls’ ability and career aspirations which we admire so much and are proud to offer our support to this fine club and team.
The Academy’s philosophy is to “achieve excellence in everything you do” and the club believes this symbolises everything Haringey Football Academy is about. They work to the ethos they all develop together, whether it be players, parents or coaches and they do so by helping each other. On the Academy’s official website this last point is expanded on further to say “this is the greatest lesson we can implement as individuals, as a club and as a community”.

Alcema consider enhancing social value within the local community a key aspect with every project undertaken. We love the way the Academy takes the girls and nurtures them with so much positivity that the mindset of ‘accepting who they are’ becomes a determination to become ‘who they want to be’. We believe this is fundamental in driving change in local areas as it drives change in the individual players’ lives. Supporters, friends and families of the team and all others involved cannot help but be affected by such a positive environment and we are proud to see the Alcema logo on the girls’ shirts!
Alcema actively researched various opportunities to support the local Haringey area to enhance social value working alongside Haringey Council. Sponsorship of the Girls Academy was soon identified as an opportunity to offer financial support and have an immediate positive impact.

Adem Ali, Club Director gave this update, “Thank you to Alcema for their generous support of Haringey Girls for 2022. The sponsorship has allowed the girls to purchase a new kit with the Alcema branding on it, and the girls instantly commented how brilliant the kit was. Haringey Girls was formed in 2017 after the Haringey School Girls were so successful in school competitions. Since then, it has grown to be the most successful girls club in the country with no less that 8 National Titles at different age groups! A further 4 National Titles in Futsal shows how wide the club spreads. The coaches give up their time to nurture the girls in all aspects of their student athlete career helping them both on and off the pitch with their football and academic achievements.
Head coach of the U15s side Ronan O’Rourke had this to say; “The new kits look amazing and the girls have loved them! It’s been a massive help having this money to help the girls in the team that may struggle to afford items such as boots or fees. I will always do my best to help the girls, but knowing we have Alcema supporting us too makes us feel so much closer”.
Adem adds “The sponsorship has also allowed us to set up a FREE coaching session for ages 5-11 girls from the local community in Haringey. Girls can come along and learn some football skills in a fun, pressure free environment. We provide the coaches and the girls just have to turn up and play. One of the U15 players Betty Larkin commented “We love the blue colour so definitely a good choice of colour from Alcema. Thank you we LOVE THEM”. The achievements don’t just stay locally with the club also having girls currently playing for the England Lionesses which again is a great achievement.

“Thank you to Alcema for all their support. Being able to do what we do comes from generous offers like this and we hope to continue to work with Alcema on more projects in Haringey on how we can help the best we can! Their sponsorship has allowed 3 girls to play that otherwise would not have been able to play football. We hope they will continue to support Haringey Girls and we invite them down to watch games and will also extend an invitation to our end of season presentation to hand out some awards”.
It is feedback like Adem’s which drives Alcema to actively look for new opportunities with our projects. Adem has highlighted that with the right, positive environment an individual can reach their full potential and real talent soon becomes evident. Instead of obstacles they can see opportunities and this aligns perfectly with Alcema’s own business ethos regarding problems being quickly replaced with solutions.
Alcema identified Haringey Football Academy offers the much needed encouragement young people need; creating an environment for self belief and opening doors of opportunity to the girls where and whenever possible. On the Academy website it mentions “all our players give their all in everything, whether it be through training, fitness sessions, games or team bonding sessions’.

It is due to an ethos such as this we have celebrated the recent Euro 2022 success by the England Ladies National Team. Alcema believes it is imperative that we support grass roots football to ensure continued success in the women’s game. We firmly believe in order to see new players develop to become players for our country investment is needed at local level and we feel empowered with this sponsorship to drive change and support success.
Also on the Academy website it mentions the team is encouraged to “be a role model on and off the pitch”. We hope Alcema is also proving to be a role model which other companies will look to follow in supporting change.
