Sherbourne Fields is an all age special school for pupils with a broad spectrum of need, including physicaldisabilities, medical condition and learning needs.

We delivered multiple learning sessions, supporting the curriculum with Key Stages 1,2, 3 and 4, tailoring these to the learning capacities of each key stage.

Alcema Project Director, Paul Reeve, and Project Manager, Glen Moran, had a fantastic and really rewarding experience joining the Early Years at Sherbourne Primary School! As they chatted about construction with the children, making it relatable to their world, Paul and Glen returned to the office with a spring in their step!

Paul Reeve shared his thoughts on the day:

“It was a really good day, not to mention hugely entertaining! There were some great characters in the room who really engaged in discussion, and the Alcema crane proved to be a great hit!

It was great to be reminded of how children think and feel, and get their perception on our industry. Engaging the children on a deeper level as we undertake the works around them is a fantastic way to broaden their knowledge in a way they feel involved in, and part of, the project.

A huge amount of respect and thanks to everyone involved from the school who helped organise the day. Particular thanks to Shivaun and her team on site who are an awesome bunch to work with. We have full admiration for all they do in their day-to-day; they make working with children look completely effortless.

It’s good to be involved in the purpose and heartbeat of this project. We look forward to all the other events we have planned, working with the staff and children. Watch this space!”
